how do images work in situ?
I sometimes get asked 'how does an image get used by a client for their business?'
Well, there are SO many ways to use the images. I will share some here, but with technology, and the ever evolving AI technology that is rapidly changing the way we live and work, there is a chance that by the time I write this, there is something newer again that I haven't mentioned. So I will focus on a few to show how it can work as of the date of writing this blog post.
Some main examples for branding clients include e-commerce (website), social media platforms, profile images.
E-commerce - For use on their website to showcase a service or product visually, perhaps it needs to show certain benefits of the service, or the luxury items the product has as a USP (unique selling point).
Social media - The client may also want to use these same images on their social media platforms, such as Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook which allows for consistency across their platforms of advertising and marketing building trust with their customers.
Profile images - professional people may required routinely updated images to use in their 'meet our team', 'about me', sections on business websites, insta bios or even their Linked in profile.
Here is an example of how a client has had their service-based brand captured in a variety of ways, to ensure different aspects of her business is in her gallery to use in the future to advertise her business, including headshots, in different outfits, including wearing hair differently, outdoors and indoors so that her visual elements of her brand, website and socials all align with what service she offers.

professional Photography is critical
Businesses require professional and unique imagery to stand out from the pack in their industry. With AI ever so close to potentially being an 'easy option' for brands to lean towards for their visual assets, it can never replace a creative photographer with their hands on the product, being able to show the product in action on set, showing how a liquid flows specifically out of the bottle, if this is a USP for the brand, or the emotion behind the profile image of the brand creator, as to WHY their business exists in the first place. It could be through hard-ship, loss, turmoil, or a simple lack of product on the market in the industry. What ever the reason, a photographer is trained at seeing these moment unfold in front of them; understanding body language; getting the best out of their client during the session, or perhaps the product itself. You don't want a computer making those decisions for you.
Example
Here is how this client has used the images from her session with me to build trust and share what the brand is about to potential clients who will require her service based business in the future.

The future
Next time your business needs to update their images, consider working with a photographer who is trained in the art of visual story telling, where you can trust the outcome and their creative expertise.
